GEM Micromatic Bullet Handle Question

Are the bullet handles (some call them flying wings) more prone to plating loss than the other Micormatics? My silver tone one has quite a bit of plate loss on the handle, and have seen this in several that were for sale on the bay.

What has been your experience?

Am trying to decide if I want to post a WTB for one with no plate loss or maybe trade my Clog Pruf for one. The open comb and the bullet handle are both great shavers, but the Clog Pruf and I just don't get a long. Many folks suggest that the OC is more aggressive than the Clog Pruf, but that has not been by experience.

I have all three of these razors in Nickel/Silver and have not noticed any plate loss. I have one Gold MMOC which has plate loss, for me the gold colored razors tend to lose it's plating more so than the Nickel.

Same here i have a few with no plate loss, but the gold one's i have lost alot of there plating, I even have one mint in the box with price tag and Paper blade instruction inside head and the gold looks like brass, Even the case looks strange, I think they did one of the worst plating jobs ever when it came to gold :eek:/

I just got in a NOS one today and shaved with it. It is one nice razor.
