Gem G-Bar SE Razor Info Request

G'morning to you folks!

when I was out the other day hunting I purchased a Gem 1912 without it's lid/cover . . . a great little razor I must say. on the same day I came across what I now know to be a Gem G-Bar thanks to you here at B&B. I've read some threads and such but I was wondering if anyone or everyone might weigh with their own opinion on this handsome/rugged looking razor.

please advise,:a23:now it's diner time . . . hash & eggs here I come!

How do you shave with a broken 1912?

I have just about all of the GEM/Ever Ready models (except the Jewel/Streamline). The G-bar is one of the better ones. Reasonably aggressive and well-built.

the top-side clip of the 1912 is still affixed and the spring unit keeps it tight to the two teeth/tines. I managed really well with it . . . I went and bought the G-Bar this after noon. I paid $10.00 for it and I'm going to get to cleaning that bad boy very soon as I'll need a shave in the morning. Pictures to follow later today.

I have both the 1912 and a G-Bar. I get great shaves with both of them, but I prefer the G-Bar. To me, it's a smoother shaver, a little less aggressive then the 1912.

G bar is handsome with a great finish, very comparable to the 1912 style tiny bit milder. The every ready streamline is the best SE razor out there and I see no point in messing around with anything else SE wise. The cobra is arguable also as a great SE choice also but for me it is the Everready streamline.

The G-bar is so timelessly futuristic. I use almost strictly straight razors, but this is the safety razor I find I come back to every few shaves. Gorgeous razor and I really enjoy the shaves

I've got more experience with the 1912, but I like the G-Bar too. That is one slick-looking razor. You said it best: handsome and rugged. I can't really comment on how it shaves, because I don't remember; I've only used it once. I guess the fact that I don't remember much is a good thing: it obviously wasn't a bad shave. I know I was satisfied, and I think you will be too.
