Same blades. I have a sleeve of them but actually prefer the Treet carbon steel blades available from Amazon. Less than half the price: http://www.amazon.com/Treet-Super-S...380734389&sr=8-13&keywords=treet+razor+blades

Edit: Just realized that was for 200 blades. Still, I prefer the carbon steel ones. They feel sharper.

I may buy a few treet blades before I commit to getting more of the Gem blades

I would see if you can get a few samples of the exact blades from someone here on B&B before buying a whole box. The best SE blades I've tried are in the 10 packs...I'm not fully convinced the larger box versions are the same.

I still want to try a couple of single blades before I order 200. I am going to give treet blades a try also

I went with the 120 treet blades for now, I hear they are supposed to be better than the Gems. I will let you all know what I think

Hey Matt have untried gem blue star carbon steel yet? They get some bad press but in my ocmm that's the ONLY blade I use... In my gem 1912 not so much... But worth a try... I can send you some... I work at a drug store and order them like crazy... They must think I'm a coke addict

I've used the coated stainless ones, and I also used the CVS carbon-steel version this morning for the first time. It was somewhat tuggy on the first pass, but I attribute that to the fact that I had two days worth of growth. We'll see how it does on Wednesday's shave. If it doesn't rust, that is. I dipped the blade in alcohol and patted it dry with some TP. We'll see what happens.
