Gem blades, different from same vendor?

Hello!

New forum member here, I recently acquired 2 Gem razors, a 1912 and a MMOC.

So I bought stainless steel PTFE coated blades from a reputable vendor in UK, a 100 blade pack and a 10 pack as well.
Have heard a lot about Gem razors here on the forum and my first shave today had a lot of tugging but at lest no bloodshed...

I took a closer look at the blade from the 10 blade dispenser and it only said Gem on one side and was blank on the other, where as on the blades in the 100 pack said Gem on one side and stainless on the other, also Gem was written in two different fonts on the blades.

On their webpage it clearly states that the blades i bougt where only stainless steel PTFE 3 facet.
Are these blades the same with just different production runs or are they different ?
Haven't opened the 100 blade container.

Here are some pictures of the blades and my razors as well.

Does the 10 pack have any writing or packaging that we can see (if you took a photo)?
As Holmes said, "Come Watson, the game is afoot!"
Let's track this down!

I missed the photo you have already posted that shows the 10-pack. No wrapper, whereas the 10-pack in the vender photo (assuming it is Connaught) looks to have wrapped blades in the dispenser.

You will know if they are stainless or carbon on the 1st or 2nd use because the carbon will have a slight rust tinge to them. They usually have stainless on the side stamped. They market that same idea in the states also in the 10pack I believe, keeps folks guessing. Excellent blade, very sharp, great longevity and smooths out nicely, predictable and best safety razor to handle when installing and removing blades.

The blades in my dispensers are not wrapped.

Here are also two pictures with the text on the side of the 10 blade dispenser:

So I had my second shave today with the same blade in the 1912, tried another angle but it still tugged quite a lot.

Is this usual with single edge razors?
I don't think it has ever tugged this much with my cartridge or DE razors.

The GEM blades I bought from Connaught in the 10 pack dispenser are smooth as silk in my 1912 and ultra sharp! They show GEM on one side, nothing on the other and are unwrapped. I use a very shallow blade angle while shaving(riding the cap).

Same here. I bought the 50 blades all in 10 packs, so far ultra sharp and silky smooth, but none are wrapped.
