Nice preliminary fairing of the spine into the shank. Don't be afraid to revisit that area with the sanding drum or a flap wheel after initial polishing. The initial polishing will show you the irregularities that must be addressed, that are not so obvious now.

Grinding the stabilizer down to blade thickness is difficult. Myself, I simply remove the shoulder. Such a small length reduction isn't a big deal. But if you do it your way, I like to finish by sanding lengthwise with two pieces of rubber hose wrapped in the sandpaper. One end and middle are wrapped with a couple layers of electrical tape. The untaped end then has a pressure bias toward it. The other end is elevated off the razor by the tape. Run these two short pieces of sandpaper covered hose back and forth along the axis of the blade, and they will quickly eat away any vestige of stabilizer thickening. Squeeze them together on either side of the blade for consistent and effortless sanding.

Gold Dollars are beautiful!

Aren't they, though? And the $3.49 price includes shipping from China. So basically it is a 99 cent razor. And a little work makes it the equal of a $150 razor. I love my Gold Dollars. My Gold Dollars love me.
