Galatea in Curly Koa

Wanted to show these scales I made for this wonderful Galatea razor

They are Curly Koa with a white G10 liner, Koa wedge and a CA finish. Pins are silver with domed washers.

Galatea's popping up everywhere these days. I like the thinness and shape of the Koa. Looks like it would fit well in the hand. From what I understand Koa is pretty special stuff. I need to do something with mine.

I have always been a big fan of koa. It is wonderful wood that can have breath-taking figure and color variations.
I love both the color and contrasting materials used on those scales. Beautifully executed!

Being originally from Hawaii, I am very fond of koa wood. Try looking up Curly Koa. That is rarer and more expensive, of course!
