Futur replating options

The Futur is rapidly becoming my favorite razor. I get the closet shaves and least irritation with it.

I want to figure out what metal or material would be best to give the grip knurling of some type.

Rhodium looks awesome but I wouldn't want to affect its performance.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Cerakote with a textured finish. Replating doesn't add texture without a knurling.

Does that come in colors other than black and that yellow orange?

I'd like to get that matte satin look.

There are all kinds of colors, just like paint. The person doing the application can tell you what he/she can and cannot do.

Cerakote would probably be the best solution for a Futur - I do believe that the Futur is made from Zamak whick is a bit of a nightmare to plate.

The handle on the Futur is made of either brass or aluminum. Only the head is made of Zamak. Re-plating isn't going to add much in the way of grip in and of itself. I suppose you could disassemble the razor and have someone with a lathe knurl the handle. The handle would then need to be re-plated as knurling will ruin the existing plating.

Knurling on the handle and a replate would be so sweet.

To be honest, I don't have issues handling this razor anymore. It's balance is perfect when you handle it in the beveled portion handle.

I think that with Futur it's easy to slip some rubber band on it or something, if you want more grip, no need to replate it.

Or you could dip the handle in PlastiDip.
