I had a friend ask me if I ever cut myself with my straights..I explained after 6 months of use..muscle memory kicks in...lol..my friend asked.. if I learned this in medical school..umm...yea..never went there... haha!
People usually give me a silent look like they think I'm an alien or something. The ones who say something, it's usually like "Heck no- why do you do that?"

This was kind of funny we're having a garage sale and I thought it would be fun to see what kind of response I'd get if I advertised "safety razors" in our sale ad.
So today I put a few of my antique store finds out and there were quite a few people who actually said "What are those?" (just for reference I had some Gillette de's, Gems and a few Schlick injectors)

Traditional shaving will save you money.
I was having a barber shop straight shave a couple of years before I started DE shaving. The woman shaving me finished off the shave with a mach III, saying "I have to use this at the end as straight razors don't get close enough"

I once told someone that it would save you money but I told him if he needed any advice to ask me and to avoid joining the B@B or any other site if all he cared about was the money. Sorry to you all, I love you all, but you all killed bank account with post and pics of your razors and stands. I come to find out how to clean a razor I leave with the goal to buy a new soap even if i got a case of arko in my closet.
One guy I used to work with told me "Nobody shaves with a blade anymore". He also meant carts. Most of the guys in my old office used electrics.
On a recent trip I was shaving with my FB when one of the guys in the cabin spotted it. He asked how old that was and I said more than 50 years old. His comment: "You actually shave with that thing? I didn't think anybody used those things any more. I didn't think they made parts [blades] for them anymore."
I then showed him the Mergress that I also brought on my trip together with Personna Med Prep blades, Personna Reds, and Lord SS that I also brought with me.
