What's new

Funny lookin thing. What, How, and Where?

this has been sittin in my folder of shaving pics for a few months and i'd like to know about it.

proxy.php

a google search for "parkin safety razor" only yielded the same picture, and no info. just what is this thing? some kind of super-portable, pocket-sized safety razor? and where can i get one?

OK...has anyone used one??? I have seen them on the Bay occasionally, but they seemed to go for more than I would want to pay for an unknown. Besides i have beeg fingers and not sure mine would fit in the krinklecut holes.:001_rolle

I have. First attempt wasn't bad for the cheek area. Had difficulties holding it at the right angle on the neck. It's fairly natural grip holding it up. Upside down is a different story. Unnatural, hard to maneuver it correctly and see where you're going at the same time. Second attempt was much better, but still difficult.

edit: I do enjoy the shave it gives, perhaps even partly because of the difficulty. The blade isn't bent quite as much as with a gillette, and I typically get better shaves out of razors like that. One large downside to this is that it is hard to open safely. I think it was after my third shave, I went to take the blade out and sliced myself something terrible. You have to get perilously close to the blade with your fingers to pry the thing open. When it goes, you don't have much control.

I don't mind the danger, I will gladly take it off your sliced up hand .

Seriously though, that is a very interesting razor. I really wouldn't mind owning one eventually.
I seem to have a pocket-gadget AD. :001_cool:
