Often it's a worthwhile effort to experiment with different tools and methods. Enter a PRC Kraken with
a ho hum mediocre edge. A 1/4 hollow used for dealing with a 4-5 day growth. Although the performance is competent, I wasn't totally satisfied. So..
Bevel is fine so a bumper crop of strokes on the BBW, moderate visit to the LaVeinette (only water) and about 50 strokes on a VT Green Slate. Verdict later today.

Push it as far as you can on the lv until you have a truly shave ready edge. Ate that 20 laps on oil on the Vermont should do the trick. Did that one come from me? I think the one I used to have had a conditioned surface but either way make sure it's dressed to at least 600# the condition it(that bbw would be a good pick for conditioning it).
