Frugal Dude Shaving Pack

I alluded to this in another thread. The DorcoUSA website sells a combo pack of multi-blade cartridge and disposable razors that's a screamin' deal. I know, I know, these type razors are heresy on this forum. I haven't shaved with em' yet but I understand that the quality is outstanding. The Dollar ShaveClub (perhaps you have seen the video) uses these razors but sells them for quite a bit more. Mantic (of shaving video fame) used their (the dollar shaveclub) basic razor (not included in this combo pack) and gave it good review.

I paid $27.58 including sales tax (shipping was free) for 33 separate razors and cartridges. Pretty fast shipping - I ordered on Tuesday morning and they were at the house 2 days later.

After I have done a few shaves I'll post my impressions.

here's a photo of the loot as it came in the mail:

Interestingly, dollarshaveclub seems to be having troubles with or is walking away from the basic razor. I told them I was interested in it, and they offered me "a free upgrade for two months until the Humble Twin is ready".

Stay tuned for further developments.

Interesting. My wife needs a new razor, but she won't try one of my DEs so maybe the womens kit would be a good investment for her.

My dad recently bought the 6 blade variety and he loves it. I think it is funny because I recently started DE shaving and he is using 6 blades. I am 24, he is turning 50 this year.....

I grabbed one of the 4-blade disposable razors and have done 3 shaves so far with it. I have no complaints. Each shave has been excellent so far - very close and comfortable - just the way I like em'. What I like about these razors is that after I shave there is absolutely no irritation/burn at all. With DE razors I tend to nick and cut myself way more often than I care to admit. With this razor that just wasn't an issue at all.

If you are like me and want to try a variety of razors and all the other gear then I suggest you try some of these for a change. They are pretty darned good razors. Especially considering what I paid.

I still have my 9 DE razors waiting for me and at least two years worth of blades plus all the soaps and creams. They will all get used. I just have to stop buying stuff.

That's a tempting deal... might go for it, but I still have a few Hydro cartridges left if I ever need a quick/easy shave. Maybe when those are gone I'll order some.
