Friodur - I heart u

I bought my first Friodur a month back. 8/8, scalloped.

Of all the straights I have come across, this has to be my favorite.

Performs well, looks good, handles well - I just can't flaw it.

Loving it so much.. looking to pick up another 2-3.

Show 'em if you got 'em!

B&B member Malacoda made it - The scales are made of purpleheart wood. The wedge, logo and 'third' pin are made from yellowheart wood.

He's done a fantastic job.

I'm a fan of straights which use natural materials, and are custom made - especially when a hobbists does a fantastic job.

Here is mine, a 6/8+ I scored from the Bay. That is not etching on the blade, it is engraved. A truly Fantastic razor! It sings songs to me when I strop it (literally the steel rings that much).

Seeing your thread made me pull mine out and shave with it this morning. Mines an 8/8 with scalloped spine and black micarta scales. Wonderful shaving razor. It even gave me a little nick under the nose as a warning to not leave it so long before using it again.

A 7/8 that I rescaled in redwood burl, and a 250 anniversary one with all gold wash.
