French Platinum-Plus Gillettes

Hi all,
I recently came across some Gillette Platinum-Plus DE blades in a different packaging than the ones I used some time ago before Gillette stopped manufacturing them here (in the 60's or 70's, if memory serves).

Those original blades were in a metal dispenser and had "Platinum-Plus" printed on the blades. The ones I just found are in the same type of plastic dispenser as the Swedish Gillettes and have "Made in France" printed on the bottom back of the card that is part of the package.

Does anyone have any information about these French blades (if that's what they are). Any one use them? Any opinions?

TIA

Hi Gemini,
You might wish to check in the razors forum, especially in the Safety Razors subforum.

I made the mistake of buying these. They are sharp but very rough, and my face paid the price for it; lots of irritation. Over on the SMF forum there has been some discussion of these blades, along with the other Gillette's from around Europe.

Cheers,
Craig
