If you are not a fan of microsoft, ARE a fan of quality, innovation, and user friendly software - I suggest you check out Open Office It is a super slick office Suite, complete with "excel", "powerpoint" etc like programs, and has the ability to publish to PDF! All for free!

It is available for mac, pc, linux - you name it, and it is FULLY compatible with MS Office products, and can save files in word, powerpoint, and other MS file forms as well as .OCT and other universal - worldwide formats.

Very cool stuff - and a nice way to sidestep the clutches of Bill Gates

i just noticed the sun logo at the bottom of that webpage. i had downloaded and used star office in the past, and it wasn't bad. nice to see that they have a free alternative...
