Greetings B&B!
Some time ago, inspired by pre-shave oils, the Oil Cleansing Method, and products like Geo F. Trumper's Skin Food, as well as my own experiences, I set out to make a versatile product to promote healthy skin for us wet shavers whose faces are frequently exfoliated and sometimes a little torn up. Now, I've got something in the works and I'd like to get some feedback and reviews, so that I can refine it and make it available to the whole of the wet shaving community. So, I'm offering posters in this thread FREE SAMPLES! There are9 ZERO samples still available. Sorry to international posters, but I'd like to ship to CONUS only.
After several months of tinkering with recipes, I've come up with a mild, simple, multi-purpose oil blend that I hope will benefit your face as much as it has mine. I'm not certain what to call it, because I've tested it as a pre-shave oil, OCM blend, and after-shave moisturizer, and I've personally enjoyed the results in all applications. "All-Purpose Oil," or something along those lines, is what I'm currently entertaining. For now, here's a picture of sample bottles in the five scents with which I've started. All scents use essential oils only, and that's really only because they're All I have - I don't want to shell out money for more complex fragrances until I've gotten some basic feedback first. I expect that 3 or 4 of these 5 scents won't really be the types of scents that people are looking for, and that will be a useful place to start.
(Ingredients: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Castor Oil (hexane-free), Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E Oil (70,000 IU), Essential Oils). The scents mostly won't be as sweet as you're used to! I've only used 1-2 drops of pure essential oil for the scent on these samples, so some of them are pretty earthy and deep.
I recommend three possible uses for this product:
This product is very much in alpha testing right now, so I'm offering FREE samples to the first 9 B&B members who post in this thread. Below are the conditions. To get a sample, you must:
Questions for those who receive samples:
I'll be shipping these out once all 9 samples are requested. Thanks everyone!

I recommend three possible uses for this product:
- As a pre-shave oil. After your normal prep routine and before you apply lather, squeeze a small amount, 2-5 drops, into the palm of your haNd. Rub your hands lightly together, and spread in a very thin layer over your beard. Proceed with your lather and shave as normal.
- For the Oil Cleansing Method. Replace your normal face-washing routine with an oil cleanse. Before a hot shower, rub 4-10 drops lightly between your palms and spread thinly over your face and neck. Allow the oil to remain untouched for 2-3 minutes, then steam your face however you prefer - a hot shower, a hot towel, a sauna, whatever, as long as the oil warms up for a few minutes. Wipe your face gently with a warm, damp towel, and you're done! Oil cleansing uses lipids (rather than soap) to dissolve the natural oils in your face, removing dirt and unwanted oiliness, while simultaneously replacing your skin's natural oils with healthy, moisturizing ingredients, so that your skin does not have to work throughout the day to reproduce its own oils.
- After your shave. Apply a very small amount, 2-3 drops, rubbed lightly between the palms and then onto the beard, after shaving and applying any astringents or anti-septics, such as alum and witch hazel. Just leave it on your beard and enjoy the light, lasting moisturization.
