Frederic Malle X Dries Van Notten

This fragrance was released this week. And it seems like Barney's has it. It's a sandalwood fragrance that is supposed to smell pretty incredible (I had a buddy that went to a release event last week). I'm going to Barney's to smell it tomorrow, and pick up a bottle of Lavender Palm. If I like the Malle, it could be a very expensive Saturday. That's what AMEX is for. Video to follow in the next week or so. This week's video is going to be about my first Luten's purchase.

Guys, I posted a video review of this in the fragrance section the week after I picked up (four months ago), it should still be there.

Have smelled this many many times. It's a very unique fragrance IMO. The best way I can describe it is that it seems to have many distinct layers, both in terms of textures and colors. I get hard browns, fluffy pinks, etc. It's raspy on the bottom but buttery on the top. Everything from saffron and Sandalwood (apparently the Myosore variety) to a 'flemmish pastry' / shortbread accord to florals (jasmine?)... very interesting stuff.

Do I like it? Like so many Malles, I respect it, but can't say I know when or how to wear it. Might be a signature fragrance for someone, but not me.
