FrankenTech(?) question

I picked up a Fat-Handled Tech for $1 at an antique store, and after cleaning, found that it had an L-code head...did they make the Fat Handle then, or did someone switch the head?

1941=L...they started the techs in 1939 to 1973. it seems right. You may be confused due to the lettering system loop, the lettering system restarts in 1930 with letter A, it finishes in 1954 wirth letter Z. It restarts with letter A in 1955 and finishes with letter Z in 1979. It restarts again in 1980 with letter A. You looked at letter L and thought it was made in 1966 i presume...it's really 1941 L. (I hope i did'nt confuse the bejoinkers out of you.)

The date code started only on blades in 1930. The razor date code started in 1951 with "W"! If a razor has the date code "L", he is from 1966. With the fat handle it´s a Frankenrazor. Here you can see the different heads of Tech razors from 1938-1966

I figured that...but $1 for a nice smooth shaver is still a deal!
Just out of curiosity, when did they stop making the fat handles?
