Dior Sauvage: I'm a big fan of Eau Sauvage but today was my first wearing of the newer Sauvage. While I like it, I think I prefer the 1966 version. The new one has pepper with the citrus in the opening. It reminds me a little of l'Occitane's Vetyver, where the pepper sits in front of the lavender opening notes. Just like I tend to reach for other fougere's before thinking of l'Occitane's (Oxford and Cambridge and Azzaro pH jump to mind), I suspect I would soon be choosing other aromatic citruses more often than I would Sauvage. I'll have to give it another wear or two, though, as things may change with the dry down.

My thoughts exactly. I bought Sauvage to see what all the hub bub was about, wore it a couple times and now it's trade fodder ;-)
