I'm unfamiliar with earlier versions. I've read that this has been reformulated, but is still good. But I love it. It's not a big projector, but I find it lasts me throughout the day. I pick up lavender on top, but that lasts. I'd say vanilla underneath. Yet it's not like Pour un Homme de Caron which is notorious for its lavender + vanilla notes (another favorite). I can't believe you can get an 8 ounce bottle for $25.

Lapidus...I haven't worn it since perhaps late winter. Needed the reminder of what a strong fragrance is. The projection and staying power of Lapidus is amazing, just like Korous.
