Fountain Pen Day 2013

Hey All!!

I was just writing up a couple of goodbye letters to my assistant and some other employees (last day at current job tomorrow) and I wanted to remind them to keep the fountain pens alive here. All these folks loved and participated in Fountain Pen Day 2012 (only one of them with an actual fountain pen, but at least the rest wrote notes/letters by hand!! :D) and I wanted to include some info on Fountain Pen Day 2013 for them. Figured you all might like to know about it too!!

This year, Fountain Pen Day is November 1. Here's the website just in case you didn't save it last year:

http://www.fountainpenday.org/

Hopefully some or all of the vendors that offered specials last year will do so again this year. Pass the word to friends, family, enemies!! :p Remember, to participate you don't need a fountain pen, just take the time to write something by hand instead of typing! If they don't have a fountain pen, hold a training seminar for them and enable away!! :D LOL

Cheers,

M.

Cool! There used to be an international fountain pen day in the 1990's as well, but I don't know what happened with that.

It's too bad that folks need to be reminded to write something by hand, instead of typing, one day a year. Still, hooray for Fountain Pen Day!

That is very cool. I just received a letter form a friend who is hiking the pacific crest trail. Whilst not written with a fountain pen, it was great to receive a hand written letter instead of a quick email. It made my day.

I just finished a letter to an American friend. It was written on Elco Prestige paper, largely with Akkerman washable blue ink.

I got a letter out on a sheet of that just the other day too,... was my first time with the Presitge, have more testing to do with it but nice stuff

Luckily almost everyday is fountain pen day for most of us, guess we could always do our part to help others enjoy it as well maybe send a letter to someone who is not used to getting a real letter in the mail should be a goal
