Found this in Japan , while looking for .....MANDOM !

Hello from Japan ,

Was scouting high and low for the legendary Mandom , when I came across a Feather DE razor . Looks not bad , all the black parts appear to be plastic . Imagine it is a fairly average razor for shaving .

Cheers,

Scott

Ah - The wonderful Feather Popular razor. Its a known razor around wet shaving forum boards for being extremely mild and gentle, perhaps like the tech or even lesser. Even if it is all pastic (save the TTO panels), it is a precision instrument for enjoying shaves with very sharp blades.

it is ironic that they discontinued the very very cheap all metal Feather portable razor and continued this all plastic popular razor !!

What is that blade packet just going out of camera ? is it feather company too from the color striations ?

Ah, I started out my DE career with the English language version of those. They are extremely mild and good to learn on, but once I got the technique down, I also realized that they are far too mild for my beard. (More mild than a Tech, imho.)

I have one of these -- bought it last year for AUD $17.95 (retail is $29.95). It's a good razor - very comfortable to hold. It is a mild shaver; a little too mild for my taste. I used it for several months then upgraded to Merkur HD. I keep it for travelling as it's light and comes in a plastic case.

Yep. Feather Popular. Looks like the blades it comes with are also Feathers. Makes sense, plus you need a very sharp blade because the razor is so mild.

Yes that is replacement blades . The de razor is equal to $8 us/can. The blades $4. Might pick it up before I leave japan . Cheers scott

On a related note, when I was in Japan last winter I had a lot of trouble finding Mandom. Have you (the OP) been successful?
