Found the Lime - Where's the Spice?

Well, just finished a decant of OS Lime Shaving Cream and while i was happy with the shaveability (once i had the water ratio on speck), i certainly got the Lime, but where was the Old Spice? I have read enough reviews saying that it comes in with the AS, but the Cream, for me, was lacking. This is making me ponder future purchases as i prefer to buy matching AS's, but don't know whether i should bother with this line or not.

Anyone out there with thoughts?

I've not used the cream but I do have and use the OS Fresh Lime ASL. It's great stuff! There's some lime up front but it dries down into the typical Old Spice spiciness!. Good stuff!

I tried a tube of the original scent shave cream and it smells nothing like Old Spice; Shulton, P&G, or otherwise. It shaves pretty good so I may try another one in the future to see if I just got one from a bad batch. This one actually smells rather unpleasant.

Out of curiosity, I'm going to whip up a bowl of CF lime lather tomorrow morning. Near the end of building the lather, I'm going to drop in 2-3 drops of Ivy Club Spice. Will report back when it's done.

"Old Spice" is as much a brand name as it is a description. I've used both the Indian OS lime shaving cream, and the old Shulton lime a/s splash, and I never found either one to have any spice notes. Essentially, they are/were both lime-scented toiletries put out under the Old Spice name; the name was not a description of what the scent was supposed to smell like.

the old spice lime is really old spice in name only. while there are hints of old spicyness its mostly a lime scent. if you want you could probably get a tube of old spice and a tube of the lime and mix them together.

Hmm I really want to try this out - is old spice lime "indian" old spice? Any links to reviews or suppliers?
