Found a Chief's Special Pre-36

View attachment 930419 I have in my possession this flat latch Mod 36 stamped with a SN of 221,XXX. The pistol actually belongs to my SIL, whose father carried it for years as a judge, carried a lot, shot seldom, only holster wear on the largely intact finish. Any guesses on year of production? I’m thinking early ‘60s.

Looking at the 3rd Edition of the Standard Catalog it would put that serial number before 1962 so early 60s is reasonable.
