Col. Conk, the instructions that come with the stone say to use water as a lubricant but some people use mineral oil as the lubricant. Do you have an opinion in this regard?

Some people feel that oils clog up the pores and reduce the cutting action the stone provides. I think it's one of those situations where if you were to ask 5 people their opinion, you'd get 7 answers.

I was advised to try this stuff on diamond hones. Since then I’ve taken to also using it on my translucent ark and my splash’n’go Naniwa 12k. There are about 57 varieties of Krud Kutter, this is ‘original’. I hone more chisels with it than SRs, but it is generally my choice ahead of oil or Ballistol on the oil stones these days.
