for newbies on a budget

Hi Folks,

I just happened to be at Wallyword yesterday (wal-mart) and noticed they had a boar brush and VanDerhagen soap for just a few bux. I think this would make a good start, especially since we seem to be attracting more and more young folk and college students.

Please, no disrespect intended..when I was in college I scrounged couch change to buy a Big Gulp!! I'm sure many of us have been there!!!!

I'm a huge cheepa$$ and always looking for the bargains.

I picked up a couple of the VDH brushes at a CVS drugstore for around $6 each and I love 'em.

A puck of VDH soap and you're ready to roll!

BTW - I have had good luck mixing Williams and VDH soap with the grind and press method. They smell nice together and I get great cheap lather.

the cvs website also sells the tweezerman badger brush for about 15 i believe for a great first badger brush

Amazon has tweezerman's that I have used for $13.5 shipped if you have Amazon Prime.

It is my first brush and so far I am loving it.
