Foldup Injector

I never saw this before. Currently on the Bay. A foldup travel Schick Injector

The early Schicks (made by the Magazine Repeating Razor Co.) all had a head which folded over and fit into the handle.

Does it look like a pen? I think you may be talking about a "Schick Repeating Razor". It is actually the original Schick razor and was the precursor to the injector.

I have one but the blade sits so far back in the holder that it does not seem to do any good for shaving. Were the blades for it wider than those made nowadays?

I have two of the B2 model, haven't yet messed with trying to load/unload them (the injector in inside the handle, a cool little set up).

What blades do I need for these?

Mine have worked just fine with modern blades, assuming the razors have the "tray" located inside the magazine. One of mine came with some old original blades & they have what measured out to be the same dimensions, the old ones just didn't have the slots ..

Are the original blades the same thickness? I have heard the older blades were thicker, which makes sense to me in that the modern blades seem to be held very loosely in the Type C repeater that I have.

I've seen one in person and it looked really cool. I don't know if you would be able to shave with it with todays injector blades?

Eyeball micrometer says that the older were thicker, remind me to take a real mike to them

I wonder if it shaves well, given the possible looseness of modern blades. Anyone ever try this model (Type A?) specifically?

I have a B1, like the middle picture that Guido posted. You can use regular injector blades in it. I was not impressed with the shave I received, but I am not entirely sure it was the razor. I think it was a combination of the blade and me. I've only tried it once. I have no idea on it's value, but I certainly think it is a great part of the collection.
