Very nice!

Getting back into the swing of tying after a hiatus. Getting ready for an upcoming trip and needed to fill a some spaces in the boxes. Some random nymphs and some semi seal leeches to start. Hoping to get a little more tied up before the trip.

Nice wallywing, Ganko! I think those are hard- I struggle with breaking them. Looks really lifelike though.
All time favorites
Hard but really fun

Cane? I'm Able!
I was thinking this morning about posting picture of flies that have turned out well and trying to get good shots of them, and then realized that I have some sentimental flies that I kept for the memories. I keep these in a small jar, and perhaps I will add to the collection in the future:
fullsizeoutput_540.jpeg

The egg at 3 o'clock was the first fly I caught a steelhead on, and it was before I tied my own flies. At 5 o'clock, my very first fly tied at a state park class-and one I caught a fish on as well. The soft hackle at 7 is responsible for my first cutthroat out west, the poorly tied goddard caddis at 11 broke off in a epic fight with a big brown that was subsequently caught by my friend the next day with my caddis still in its mouth! The mangled dry at 1 fooled my biggest brown to date, and the stonefly in the center was the first fly I tied that I caught a steelhead on. None of them are pretty, but they all have a story!

Oh yeah
All effective flies have a story behind
Keeping adrenaline at high level
Regards
Ganko

What phenomenal memories my friend! And don't sell yourself short; you fooled the fish, and THEY are the critic you need to fool!

Anyone sitting on the bank getting skunked have no right to an opinion! I've never fly fished, but always wanted to learn. My "funnest" adventures on the water have always involved floating "poppers" and catching and releasing Blue Gills.

Nice flies Ponycarmam
What kind of material are you using for the body
Many years ago i found the catgut as a great body material
Gives a realistic look when it's wet

Those are made with a stretchy bracelet chord I found at hobby lobby. Got a couple multi color packs. Its kinda on the thick side for at least super small flies. I believe those were 16s. I gave the end of the chord a quick melt and stretch to thin it down a little before tying it in.
