Florida Stub Tail

Hello, Gents, I found this early stub tail in an antique store today for only $10. “Florida” is the only word on the tang. Nothing is on the other side. Anyone know the approximate age? I am assuming late 1700s but I could be very wrong. The scales are done but still have beauty about them.

The decision was made to keep it as is. What a beautiful piece. I was told circa 1800-1810.
I would keep as is as well. I have a few razors that are old enough that I will not mess with them, other than to stabilise them if needed.

There are plenty of razors that would shave better than that one, if I’m honest. But that is a rare piece of history that should be preserved.

I’ll bet that razor is from a little after 1810, since it looks English made. Around then Americans of English decent had a bit of a rebellion in Florida, and took it over from the Spanish.
