54 Flare Tip
Nacet(4)
Simpson PJ2
AdP Colonia
Pinaud Clubman

My Grandpa's highly polished brass ashtray looks really cool, but doesn't make a very good lather bowl. I tried it before I polished it and it was only marginally better. Fortunately the AdP is so good I still got plenty of lather for a 3 pass shave.

I finally finished the Simpson's cream. Now I'm trying this Pythian Way, which was, apparently, a short-lived attempt at a private-label Paladin/Dark Holler soap. Initial results seem to be a fairly slick lather (heavy on the lanolin, and maybe the shea butter?) and not much scent. I'll give it a solid chance for the week and then may move on.

SOTD, Feb 11th 2020, Flare tip Super Speed February and I was looking through my storage razors and came across my M3 Black handled Flare tip, This razor is OK for daily shaving but is not as well built as my Gillette 1956 all brass nickel coated flare tip IMO.
I think the handle is Aluminum and has a brass head but it delivers a good shave.

Razor: Gillette regular M3 flare tip with coated black handle-MFG 1967 3 qtr
Blade: Personna red (5)
Soap: Colonel Conk Bay rum- Good soap
Brush: Yaqi wolf whiskers 24 mm
Pre-shave: Brush wash my face with CeraVe hand bar soap + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 2.+(clean up)
Post shave: FINE fresh Vetiver aftershave with witch hazel + Nivea Men balm.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = :a17:great shave!

All done with the BP&T ASB. Time to move on to Stirling's Bay Rum ASB...

Pythian Way performed just fine today. Lather wasn't pretty, but it sure was slick! I'll continue to work with it to get the soap/water ratio right. I used a very wet brush today and I think I need to remove some of that for the initial load. Time (and practice) will tell!

I think I have a mild allergy to the Pythian Way soap. I've used it for a number of days, and there's an unpleasant, low-level tingling/burning associated with it. I think I'm going to move on to a different soap. The jar itself is beautiful, though, so I'll re-purpose it for a hand lotion container or something.

I'm in! Had to pull out my flare tip after looking through this post.

J4 Gillette Superspeed Flare-tip - It worked a lot better than what I thought. In the past, I had couple rough shaves with this razor. Today, the shave was effortless and smooth for the most part. I'll be continuing to use this for the rest of FEB!

Fantastic!

What’s the Omega and what is the Stirling? I’m not familiar with either.

Can you tell me about the scent?
It's a dupe of Mont Blanc - Legend. What I get is cologne scent mixed with some complex notes like musk and slight green. It smells like a masculine scent. I can't describe scents very well but I'm neutral on this one. I prefer simple and lighter notes. This scent strength is 5 or 6 / 10
