I just picked up an old black handled Super Speed a few days ago for $2. Cheap, but it did have some issues: the razors seems to have been banged around in a drawer for some time. Consequently, the two ends of each safety bar are bent down somewhat. If you look at the safety bar straight on, it looks like each one has a frown.
I used a pair of pliers to bend each corner up. The bars look more or less straight now, but one side of the razor is unquestionable more aggressive that what I understand a black handled SS should be. I can see that the bar is lower on that side, too.
The other side shaves mildly, maybe just a tad more aggressive than a Tech, but with all the manipulation, I'm not even sure if that's where it should be. If need be, I'll use this side as a reference for how I'll adjust the other side.
Still, I'd like to find some sort of reference, maybe a measurement, of where things should be on this razor. Anyone have a suggestion?
