Fisher Space pen.

I have had a Fisher Space pen for about a decade. The astronaut pen....writes everywhere. Great pen, rounded ends doesn't wear holes in my pocket...quick, easy to assemble.

Anyone else have one or aspire towards one ?

I always carry one with me. They're great pens.

My main pens for years were a bullet style Space Pen, and a Parker Jotter with a Space Pen refill. The bullet style one is still my always there backup for those times that it's awkward to write with a fountain pen, odd writing positions, terrible paper, etc.

I even got one of their Q4 multi space pens, two ink colors, stylus (which can be replaced with a third ink color), and mechanical pencil. Not as convenient to carry as the little ones, though. And it uses special refills, pressurized like the regular ones but not as much ink.

I just got one of the cheaper models from Ebay and I love it. I was frustrated with pens not writing on the sales forms i use. The forms are duplicate so a ballpoint is required. So often the other pens we would get stopped writing. Nothing more frustrating! The spacepens write everytime no matter what gets on the page. I would like to get one of the better models.

So, where can I get one of these?
Some office stores have them. Amazon has quite a few different models including the multi and the refills for it. Jetpens.com has bullet models, pocket clips for them, and refills. If you have any ballpoint that takes a Parker style refill, the standard Fisher refills will fit in it.

I recently had a thread about looking for a rollerball type pen to carry with me that would write on all kinds of paper, including cheap receipt paper, etc... I ended up buying a Fisher pen... the black bullet style. It's nice and compact, tough and really does write on just about any surface.

I prefer a nice fountain pen, but this one is practical when you are out and about.

Damnit. I just popped over to jet pens to take an innocent look. Now I am tempted to buy one for the times people ask for a pen.

Have one and liked it a lot. It's not the smoothest writing pen in the world but it was a handy pen to have on my person at all times. I later used an inka pen on a keychain for the same purpose but this thread has reminded me to go dig up that space pen again...

Reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry admires the pen and Jack gives him the pen. A big to-do ensues, ala Seinfeld.

So, has anyone had one of these ever leak in their pocket? I want something that I can carry in the back pocket of bluejeans that won't make a hole or leak.

My bullet pen never leaked at all, even after being run over by a car (survived with barely a scratch). It did occasionally glob a little ink on the ballpoint, but that seems to be typical for Space Pen refills. Unfortunately, I lost mine on the bus recently. I need to get a replacement soon, got really used to having that pen in my pocket.

Dennis,

They've been to the moon and back, if they can survive microgravity, I doubt there's much you could do to make it leak.

Even my hands stay clean with one. And I've built up a bit of a reputation with some B&B members about getting inky fingers

Thanks guys. Looks like I need to get one of these. Then I need to figure out a way to keep from losing it AND keep it away from my wife because she is guaranteed to lose it.

yep - always carry a bullet pen around with me. scratched and dented by now, but what a great pen. refills last almost a year each.

people look at it suspiciously when I get it out...like it's a concealable knife or something
