First Try -- TBS Macca Root SC

I tried The Body Shop's Macca Root SC for the first time this morning, and it made a very good first impression. Lathers as well as any SC short of Penhaligon's or Castle Forbes, and far better than most. A couple of bucks more than Proraselow but, IMHO, well worth it. I got a really great shave today, and had enough lather left after 3 passes that I could have done 3 more.

I feel like this shaving cream doesn't spark much dialogue around here, but it really should! The scent is great and it performs very well. I still love my Proraso, but this performs in the same league--I'd strongly recommend it.

I'm using the formula replaced by the macca root and like it muchly, I got the tubs for $4 each on clearence sale and after using them up (2 tubs to go) I'll get the macca root version

I love this cream. It is available locally and the price seems fair.
The scent is great and it performs as well as TOBS, which I also use.
It is made in in England and I suspect Creightons might be the producer.
I use it with the matching balm (Maca) and together they provide a great shave.

+1 for being underrated and very effective.

The smell has grown on me. It's a bummer it has to live up to the old stuff which was SO good.

The old Body Shop cream was tops, IMO. Never tried the Maca as I stock up on the old stuff on clearance as well.

Instead of or in addition to the Maca, I wish they'd offer an unscented cream in their formula. Bringing back the old unscented Razor Relief balm in a tube would also be nice.

Same here! I really like this stuff. I think it works better than the much more expensive C&E Sienna however I do like the scent of the Sienna a bit more.

I picked up some during a 3 for the price of 2 deal a month ago. The lather on this stuff is the most cushiony I know. And you just need a little. This AM, I did one circle with the brush in the tub and built up enough lather for probably 6 passes. Smell grows on you, plus leaves the bathroom smelling nice...since I use it once a week, I probably will have these 3 tubs for years.

+1 on the effectiveness. Doesn't smell as good as the past formulation, but the performance seems to be the same. I often use it when I'm experimenting with new blade/razor combinations because it takes the cream out as a variable.

I like it a lot, too, but the scent is just so-so to me.

It seems that it lathers similarly to The Real Shaving Company creams, which are even less expensive, but smell even worse.

If you haven't tried this stuff, go to TBS and ask for a sample. The amount they give you will last a couple of weeks even if you use it every day. It only takes a tiny amount to make a mountain of lather.
