First trip to West Coast Shaving

First a confession, I live within 20 minutes of West Coast Shaving, and until Tuesday had never been there. A heavy work schedule and busy weekends, I now see, were poor excuses!

I took a very rare day off of work this Tuesday. I decided NOW was the time to finally visit West Coast Shaving. I invited my son-in-law (he is a wet shaver also), daughter and, my wife.

We were greeted as soon as we came through the door and asked if we had been in the store before. Within minutes the lovely "Co-Owner" Christine was showing us the products we were interested in. Almost every scent I have on my wish list was available for us to see and smell. They had plenty of testers available.

Christine and the staff made themselves available for any questions, and at the same time we felt comfortable to browse anything in the store.

The up side was that I was able to see which scents both I and my wife liked. I'm sorry to report that I REALLY like Lilac Vegetal, but SWMBO REALLY hates it.

The down side is this visit was not good for my AD's. The prices were all too reasonable, and with the store this close saving money on shipping makes it too convenient. I purchased some Irisch Moos and a West Coast Shaving Rosewood Shaving Stand. Already I have plans on my next visit to purchase a TOBS cologne (Eaton College, Jermyn St. or St. James) and shaving cream.

If you are in the area you must make it a point to stop at West Coast Shaving. You will not regret it.

For full disclosure, before Tuesday I had never met anyone associated with West Coast Shaving, and my recommendations are completely unsolicited. I just think this place is great!

I've only ordered online as I am on the right coast so it is a little too far to walk for personalized service.

if i didnt live 140 miles from there i would go every week

Think of it as an opportunity to pace yourself. As it is I will have to go on a day off. Though they say they are available if you call on a Saturday, I would end up calling them at least oce a month.

@Kindest what part of Riverside?

Corona / Riverside border.

Sorry about that Mick. I wish everyone could experience a visit like that. They were all so helpful and friendly. Is Pasteur's at least an occasional option for you?

I agree it's a lot of fun to wander the aisles and look, touch a.d smell things. Kinda like a grown up candy store/

With no diabetic drawbacks.

I order from them regularly, but living in Louisiana, it's a bit tough to drop by. It would be amazing to be able to sample all of the great products available in wetshaving, but alas, it ain't gonna happen here in Baton Rouge. I was in Paris a couple of months ago, and was really taken by the availability of products at the corner drug stores. Of course, I bought too much stuff, but actually seeing a tub of Proraso on a shelf in a store was just too cool. You guys are fortunate to be where you can visit WCS regularly. They are great people.
