First time with a shaving soap... I chose well!

I picked up a Kent branded Wool Fat soap cheap from the 'Kentbrushes' eBay store.

I gave it a whirl today, and even though I used too much water to make the lather; I was absolutely astonished at the protective and moisturising properties of the soap. I was positively hacking away experimentally at my face at the end of the shave, but Kent just chuckled loftily at my futile efforts and effortlessly massaged the skin as my razor made it's pass.

An absolute keeper.

Kent (and MWF) can be used very wet and still give good protection. It's one of the things I like most about it, because I prefer a wet lather. AoS, one of my other favorites, works much better for me dryer than average.
