First Time Safety Razor Shave

After much helpful advice and tips on the forum, I finally purchased an Edwin Jagger de89, astra sp blades, and some soaps and stuff. It arrived last night, and I had my first shave! All I can say is wow. I decided to film it, and its up on youtube. Going to be practicing more and more, but it wasn't too bad for a first time.

Anyway, here it is. Just goes to show all the n00bs like me that you can do it.

Not bad at all! I didn't watch the whole video and skipped around a bit but it looks like you did very well at your first time.

I would say you pretty much got it figured out.. The grip is the hardest thing, we can all give you advice but ultimately every person holds and uses a specific tool differently to get
the same result, are bodies never move exactly the same as the next person and therefore we always get different results. Just keep working at it and you will get it all figured out with some good old fashioned trial and error. Keep your fundamentals, remember not to flick the wrist and no pressure and you should be good to go the rest will fall into place.
