First time Cella user

WOW, all I can say. I had a nice chunk sample that was PIF'd to me almost 8 mo ago. I was trying to finish up my RR Chumba Cheech so that I had a nice container to mush it in to. Was able to use it for the first time yesterday. Up to now, I had only been using glycerin based croaps/creams. I bowl lathered this stuff right up and was amazed at how smooth the razor glided accross my face. It also left a real clean feeling after and best of all no adverse reactions like I have read from some tallow users.
Now I can truly understand why someone woudl buy a 1kg brick of this stuff!

I'm confused. Are you referring to tallow vs veggie based recipes? Glycerin is a byproduct of all soap. Cella is good stuff. If it wasn't for the sake of variety I would consider a 1 kg block.

I really like Cella. Lathers nice and smells great. Not quite in the same league as Mike's for me but an 8 out of 10 none the less. YMMV

I have the big block, together with 25 other soaps--enough for many, many years. For me, Mike's and Cella are tops (with about 10 other soaps tied for second place).

I've never used Cella as I am a new DE convert. I have used AOS cream, ARKO, and Col Conk Almond. Just wondering, how would you guys rate Cella compared to these? And what do you mean by "Big Block"? Is there a way to buy this without getting a large chunk? Thanks

Cella is great soap. I'd rate it's performance as at least as good as the ones you mentioned. I personally prefer it over those, but everyone has their own tastes and needs. If you want to get a more manageable sized chunk instead of the 1kg, I believe http://italianbarber.com and http://razorbladesandmore.com both sell 125g portions cut from the brick. I think Garry at Garry's Sample Shop has a sample available. There is also a version that comes in a red tub, but it's slightly different. I prefer the brick version.

I love Cella! Like TonyJoe stated, the samples from the kilo blocks seem to be a little better than the 150 gr tubs.

Ok guys I checked around at both of the places mentioned by TonyJoe and I'm striking out. Only italian barber has it available but it's in the giant kilo block. Anyone have any other ideas on this? You have peaked my interest and would love to try it but I am Cella less.

The link to italianbarber.com is a 125g piece from the block, if you don't want to buy the entire 1kg. The link that HUF posted is for the red tub, which is a slightly different formula. They are both good, but a lot of people feel, as do I, that the block is a little better. They are both very soft soaps. The red tub is softer than the block, but they are both sometimes referred to as creams.
