My first straight razor Dubl Duck is on the way and I need to have it honed. Does anyone know anyone or anyplace in Minneapolis or St. Paul where I can have it honed? I have a TM Strop ordered. Don't realy know what I am getting myselt into but I can't wait.

def take David up on that generous offer!!! I haven't personally shaved off his edges but I hear he makes a wonderful edge!
also, you may want to get a poor man's strop kit from Larry at whippeddog.com so you don't destroy the TM strop - TM also sometimes offers practice strops inexpensively made from the same leather (same quality, just no hardware and smaller cuts) as his regular strops.
another trick is to lay the strop flat on the edge fo at able/counter and practice your stropping technique while its' flat to avoid cupping of the strop or slicing it.

What's all this Dark Side talk about. I'd like to think of us straight shavers as the good guys. Does the phrase "an elegant weapon for a more civilized age" mean anything to you guys?

I appreciate your generosity. If you don't mind I can send it to you when I get home. Next the strops should be coming soon. I did order a strop and a practice strop from Tony Miller. Tony did say that practice strop makes a great travel strop as well. I can already feel the urge to pick up more straights.
