first shave with walmart asr personnas

I figured i would try these blades out. I loaded my ej89l with one with c.o.bigelow creme and proceeded to shave. At first it felt much rougher than the feathers and derbys but after a couple passes the blade smoothed out and i ended up with a really great irritation free shave. Way smoother than expected and no pain on aftershave application.

I wanna like those blades, I really do...but I just can't. They're dull as dishwater to me. I'm glad you like them though; you'll have no problem getting them.

I don't know how I feel about them just yet. I need some more time. Funny thing that Walmart was out of them the last time I tried to pick them up.

They seemed pretty good to me, although I was still on the beginning of my learning curve when I tried them. Initial impression was that they were not quite as sharp out of the box as Shark Super Chrome, but I got more shaves out of them. Or more precisely, they seemed to perform better than the Sharks toward the end of the week. I'm currently working through a sample pack and it will take a while for me to get back to them. I should have a better idea then. I like the fact that they're US-made.

That is their main advantage... you can always get more of them, so it is worth "getting used to" them. It is getting harder to find any other brands in the drugstores or department stores or groceries these days. Sometimes you see Wilkinsons, which are a lot better IMHO. Dollar General has their house brand that shaves a lot like the Personnas and now that I think of it, the packaging is suspiciously similar.

loaded the exact same blade into my Feather AS last nite. Used VDH-dlx with some added tea tree oil and glycerin for the first 2 passes WTG and XTG, and then applied Cremo for the last ATG pass. DFS style. No weepers, no nicks. These blades have left no visible irritation, however it feels too close for comfort, to the point of almost actual discomfort...

i did rub the alum block for feel and it was mildly noticeable, but i think the alum actual causes my skin to redden with spottiness after application. maybe i am using to much, but with the RazoRock, i just swipe it in a couple quick passes and usually i leave it on for a minute or two and then wash off. This time i washed it off after 20 seconds. but i did get some redness on my lower chin.

it does look good and compared to my first initial 2 attempts at DE shaving in May my wife gave the thumbs up sign for no blood loss.

These are my goto blades because they are conveniently available. I find them to be very consistent in quality/edge and I can get 4-5 shaves per blade. The only other blade I can compare them to is Wilkinson Sword which dont seem as smooth to me and last fewer shaves.

These are all I shaved with for about a month when I started DE shaving.

I thought everyone was out of their minds with blade ratings and such. I have since been converted to better blades and am working my way through WCS samplers.

Wal-Mart and drugstore personnas are great for traveling or for using when waiting on your fav blades to come in the mail.

they are def usable and for me, cause no irritation for the first 2-3 shaves.

well, for me, they are just meh. they work in a pinch however they only are good for one shave for me. they are still worth the $2.00. YMMV.
