This thread was so inspirational that today I had to use this legendary shaving soap.
I agree with all of this and I like it too. In particular, the melding of a low cost and a great scent is unusual.I know it's only one shave, but all I can say is Wow! Holy Crap! How did I miss this all of these years?
The packaging is basic, but the soap inside is something special; a soft, white soap with a prominent, sweet marzipan scent. It produced a slick, abundunt, luxurious lather in no time. My face was left smooth and soft, not dried out at all. A wonderful shaving experience in every aspect. Truly a top-tier shaving soap in my opinion, and is a steal considering how much it cost.
Well, I was all good until I saw this..... After all, how are you supposed to get at the ingrowns?

This is a great soap and value. For clarification this is the exact same product many refer to as TFS Ciotola Rosa or "Red Bowl". I've use this and a number of Razorock soft Italian soaps that are also made by TFS and all are great. The Red Bowl/Crema Purissima uses the same base as the others and is just as good as most of them.I know it's only one shave, but all I can say is Wow! Holy Crap! How did I miss this all of these years?

Adding to Marco's list I've used the following Razorock soaps with the same/similar base:Also, there are many more TFS manufactured soaps that use this exact EXCELLENT base formula. I have 4 of them which have deserved a permanent spot in my den.
They are:
• RazoRock Santa Maria del Fiore
• RazoRock Plague Doctor
• Mastro Michè Revisited Rive Gauche Shaving Stick
• Mastro Michè Code 24-11
I was curious as to how you loaded the soap. Guessing that the slick and luxurious lather just oozed out of your poresThat's funny. I ate a whole puck aND itshad NOOOOO effeKt on mee wHATSOEV.................,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Sure! Please, do let me know your thoughts when you try the famous ciotola rossa.
Glad to hear, Sir! It's by far my favourite dirt cheap soap.It arrived in the mail yesterday along with a RR Snowman brush, RR SMdF aftershave.
Opened up the tub and gave it a sniff. Has that classic Italian almond scent. Looked quite soft. So I figured it would load up with no problems.
Was looking forward to shaving with this soap and trying out the new brush this morning.
So this morning I soaked the snowman brush for a few extra minutes showered and lathered up enough soap to do a 3 pass shave and touch up’s with no problem.
Used plenty of lather on the first pass. Gave it a few seconds to see how my face would react. No irritation at all. I’ve had good luck with Italian soaps not causing any irritation or reaction. 1st pass went well. As I shaved with the grain.
2nd pass the soap went on well going across the grain.
3rd pass across the grain was a little thinner and went well. Had just 1 minor weeper.
Did some quick touch up’s and called it good.
Applied some Vitos tobacco aftershave afterwards.
Overall I got a solid shave with this soap that is easy to lather. Had decent slicknesses, washes off cleanly and no lingering almond scent. Post shave feel an hour later felt good.
For the $$ this is a great value soap that I’m looking forward to having in my rotation.
Will be getting a lot of use on work day’s when I’m pressed for time
