First shave with slim

three-tu-tu, three-tu-tu
I usually use a Mergress but just purchased a Slim (thank you Jason) and had a run at it.

The shave results are excellent. The comfort level was not. I had quite a bit of pulling - no matter what setting I used. I suspect the shave angle was wrong. A few weepers - which I have not had in weeks with the Mergress - and a less than happy time with the alum block.

Suggestions?

Give it some time....you just might end up replacing that Merkur with the Slim if you do.
Make sure that your gap settings are even...

Coming up on 50 years ago, I changed from whatever I'd been using (either an electric shaver, or a mix of some Injector shaves with using an electric) to a DE, and it was a Slim, that I learned how to use on my own (having failed to master a DE ten years previously, probably due to adolescent clumsiness). I have newer Super Adjustable Gillettes, but 48 years or so later, I still have the three I bought starting then, on through 1969.

They served me well, and although I put away two of them twenty years ago, I never turned loose of them. I still get good shaves with the same old razors (however, I do wonder why I changed from the Injector, which does a better job at everything except keeping my sideburns from creeping, and getting ragged at the bottom).

I'm not even sure I know what the razor you prefer looks like.
