Recieved this razor yesterday from Phil at Bullgoose,one of the best vendors to deal with imo. This razor is a beauty.You can see the quality of this razor is just awesome. The shave was amazing. I loaded a feather that had couple of shaves on it and it was smooth sailing. For a open comb it imo is not overly aggressive at all. Compaired to my R41 witch alot of us know is very aggressive. The blade when you load it is seated perfectly. The weight, balance, look, feel etc is nothing short of perfection. Anyone looking for a OC and fears they are to aggressive look no further. For an OC this razor is a work of art. Can't wait for the slant to come out. This was supposed to save me money. LOL

Nice score. If you want to bump up the aggressiveness a tad go for a Kai razor blade. This is what I do in mine.

I like my Ikon OC, which I also got from Bullgoose, as well. I know many here are not fans of Ikon, but I'm newbie and wasn't around for the drama. It's a great razor but I've been reaching for it less because it's not as aggressive. To nitpick, it almost looks like it doesn't bend/arc the blade quite enough as compared to a Gillette New OC, but I like that someone is at least making a modern high quality OC razor and it does shave well for me.
There is Ikon Open Comb Deluxe and Ikon Bulldog Open Comb on BullGoose. What's the difference between the heads?
Nothing, I don't think. IIRC, Phil said the deluxe came about when iKon was running short of the Bulldog handles, but was able to provide the OC head on OSS handles for that shipment.
