First shave with Gem Featherweight

I recently bought this Featherweight (along with an MMOC) here on the BST (thanks @gpjoe ). My first Gem-style razors. Decided to give it a try this morning and was surprised that I got a really good shave on my first attempt. 3 passes with a couple of touchups and one small nick that was gone post shave. Not the best shave I've ever had but far from the worst. Took a bit to get used to the angle required. I like the shape of the handle, the little bit of a hook on the end works well for me.

Planning to take on the MMOC Monday of next week.

Nice. I do like those shovel head razors. It really shows what angle you need to use and works well.

Keep the head almost flat against your face and use a light touch.
Second shaves on a Gem blade are almost always smoother, too.

I would hold off on using the mmoc until you have a few more Featherweight shaves under your belt.

I can't see the back of the top cap, but I think it has the gen one head. Some say these shave better than the gen two, but I can't tell much difference between the two types.

They are great little razors. I have a regular GEM and an ER. Are there multiple versions of the ER?
