First shave with a Super Speed

After almost a year on my training wheels razor (Merkur HD) I was able to get a hold of a 1960's Super Speed in very good condition. Today, I gave it a go using a Feather blade. I was a little surprised at the difference. The Super Speed was lighter, so much so that at times it didn't feel like it was cutting. Was I wrong. After the standard 3 passes I got closer with this combination than I ever did with the Merkur. And no bleeding, however my technique needs a bit of work. I'm looking forward to the future with this as my go to razor, that is until I buy a Fat Boy or Slim or...

After I got my first Super Speed, I sold my Slim! I couldn't get any combination with the Slim to work anyway. Comparatively, my Super Speed was a dream!

I've used the Gillette Fatboy, Slim, Super Adjustable, Tech, and Sheraton and I love my Super Speeds best of all. I do prefer the feel in my hand of the 40s style, but I have a 50s style made in Britain that I'm also very fond of. I think you'll find that your technique with one of these will just naturally evolve.

My fat boy, slim, tech amd merks are great razors but the ss seems to be up there with them, seems a popular razor on this board:cool:
