First shave with a slant

My New Years Day shave was with my new sledgehammer slant. Aside from a few weepers (I was expecting them) from using an unfamiliar razor and blade, I must say the shave went really well. It's aggressiveness is readily apparent yet easily controlled. The final shave was on par with my Gem 1912, it's important to bring your best lather to the party. This razor does demand your full attention, but it's not nearly as scary as some people might make it out to be. Definitely it has earned it's place in my regular rotation.

This is the razor you may want to pull out on that night when SWMBO is out for the night, your home alone and you want to savor the shave. Enjoy a nice long session where you contemplate every stroke.

I went to a slant 6 months ago and haven't looked back. Yes, you need to be careful with this razor but that doesn't mean you have to shave slow. In fact, I get my best shaves when I shave fast! Love the slant. All others in my den are collecting dust.

I started using a Merkur 37G this past week and I love it. It is not the aggressive beast everyone says it is.

Hi alls.

I had my first shave with a Vintage Merhur Slant Bar the past 30-12-2009 and the second in 01-01-2010.

I've to say that I'm folling in love with the Slant. I had two very close and soft shaves using a Feather. It's not a bloody beast at all but you need attention and decisiveness, and to prepare the skin very well, nothing special.

Of course in my rotation like a winner.
