I am really new to traditional shaving. This was my 7th shave today. My first 2 were with a merkur blade. The past 4 have been with Derby blades. My shaves have not been the best. This is because of technique I know. So I needed to change my blade and the Feather blade pack was calling my name. I thought this was probably not a smart idea... but me being a sucker for pain I went with it. I am a smart person I know lol. But believe it or not I got the best shave I have had yet with the Feather blade. Only 1 nick and just a couple little spots being let known with the alum bar. Much better than before when my whole face would sting lol. The reason for the better shave I do believe is because of everyone's talk about how sharp the Feather blades are and how unforgiving they are. So I noticed myself shaving even slower than before. And I was shaving slooww before. I also noticed I was applying very little pressure as opposed to before. I was paying very close attention and getting into a state of calmness and relaxation. It was a great shave. So I can say that yes the Feather blades are sharp as... well you know. But for this noob the Feather blade is teaching me how to shave even better so I am a convert to Feather. At least for now. It should also be noted this was the only thing that has changed in my shaving process. Everything else has been the same. Just thought I would share with everyone.
