First Shave With a Fatboy

My Fatboy just came in from the bay. I cleaned it, sterilized it, got it shining like new, popped in a fresh Super Iridium and put it away in anticipation for the shave to come. I just finished (ya, at 2:26 a.m., I'm a bit of a night owl =P) and WOW. Just WOW. I'd been using a slim for a few weeks now, and I don't know if it was the extra weight of the fatty or if my slim had been dropped or something but this was one awesome shave. It's the kind of shave that compels you to keep running your hands over your face because it's just so smooth. Plus there was zero irritation! It usually feels like a washed my face with gasoline after my first shave with an Iridium, but not tonight . Just thought I'd share that shave. I'm pretty excited =D

I got a Gillette 'Fat Boy' about 1 week ago and i'd have to agree, its a great razor to shave with. Fast becoming my favourite go to razor although i do like my SS too.

Yup, just did a week with a Fatboy and Super Iridium. Also very impressed. Might just be the blade as it's performing pretty nicely with a Super Adjustable this week too!

If I follow you what you said, you experience irritation with the slim and a Iridium?

If that is what you are saying,what number is the slim set on? If it is a small number, I wonder if your slim has been overclocked. Do a search about over clocked and try resetting that slim...

Mmmmmmm, Fatboy.

Still haven't figured out whether it's the razor or just the extra effort you put into getting a great shave with it.

Who cares? I love Fatboys so much I now have two of them, to have a backup in case one breaks.

is there a 'huge' difference between fat boys and slims...? Are the heads actually different?

Well, to my understanding there shouldn't be any difference in the shaves. If there are differences in the heads of the razors I can't identify them by looking. They just have different handles. For some reason however, my Fatboy shaves significantly better than my Slim for reasons unknown to me.
