First shave of 2013

Happy new year to you first of all!

By thinking to kick off the new year with a nice shave, I made a little mistake: I changed two factors in the process instead of one:
- took the new Lady Razor (blue stardust) for its maiden run
- instead of the proven Palmolive cream I thought to give the new Arko cream a try

After my standard run of 3 passes, it turns out that my neck has a little reddish glow and I feel some razorburn. Now I need to find out whether it was the lather or the razor I need to adjust to. A liberal application of Nivea Replenishing balm does a nice job now...

Anyway, the result is acceptably smooth!

Which Arko cream?

I have both the Lemon and Kommando. Their cushion and glide are not nearly as good as the brit varieties, but usable. Can't comment on the Lady Razor, however. If the lady was aggressive and/or your blade wasn't sharp, the lackluster Arko probably combined to give you the redneck.
