Getting this brush soon;

Wanting to get ideas, since it looks like a doozy to restore. I have no lathe access, but would 800 grit be enough to take down the scratching? Best ideas on this, please?

I know I have the tiny brush, but in many aspects, I feel it doesn't count since the hair practically fell out of it

800 should work out okay on that. I'd go 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000 grits and then hand polish it a few times. Bingo, Bango, brand new.

Got the brush handle today. Think ill start at 800; the pictures make it look much worse than it is. Hoping my SWMBO will let me...she has a thing for stuff looking old

Wash it up with a tooth brush and some dawn dish soap before you sand. After it is sanded, some Meguiar's Plastx polish will make it look like new. Lovely brush BTW. I love the butterscotch and black combo!
