First restoration planned

My mom found this brush in the attic of her new house. When I get it, it is going to be my first brush restoration.

What type of knot are you planning to use?

I don't know, I was thinking something a little stiffer than my current one, so I was thinking an extra hair silvertip from tgn. I may see about shortening the loft a bit, but we'll see. I don't have it yet and i may not get it till I see my mom in September.

I don't know. That is the only pic I have of it, and my mom can't remember what it says on it, if anything. She also found a twinplex stropper in her attic. To go along with it my dad is going to give me his grandpas brush and mug. My mom is contemplating giving me her barbasol jar.

Wow! Ended up nice in terms of cleanup!

So wheres the end product?

I sanded, stained, and sealed the handle, then re glued the black part. I also took out the old knot

Eventually, but need to order the knot . I'll post more pics when I can.

Just ordered knots for this brush, and two additional knots to restore my grandpa's old brushes. Now, it is time to wait.

My knots arrived today. I should have them finished in the next week. I have some things to get done before I can make it a priority.
