What's new

First Jnat progression

The other night I took one of my blades dulled on glass and started my progression. I did Botan, Tnejou, mejiro and tomo and finished on plain water. Did a combination of circles and x strokes, and did not bother at all with a count. I went by feel, and when I could feel the strokes smooth out I would transition to the next slurry.

All in all I did the whole thing in about an hour, and the HHT result was very promising 4 to 4+. The shave Tuesday morning was superb! Keen and smooth, just the way I like them. This morning my cheeks were still pretty smooth. I am noticing a very light stubble as I write this. I am very pleased with my first attempt at this, and I am very excited to see how it goes with some more practice.

Congrats on the success!! I too just started using a Jnat and although I don't have a Botan yet, I'm getting great success with my stone also!!!! Can't wait to shave with the razors I honed today!!!!

Congrats, it is not rocket science, just rubbing metal on rocks.

So easy, even....

Congrats, Jon! I'm still new to it myself, but I've found that JNAT honing is pretty straightforward once you figure out what's what...Good stuff though!!
